First…I’ve never used my middle initial before. But then, I’ve never had a website before and it turns out there are a lot of Stephen Bennetts out there vying for your attention.
Second…I don’t really see myself as an artist. To me, that term describes someone who projects an image of the world through a unique creative lens, someone who remakes the human experience in accordance with a singular vision of what it means, both to them and to us. I can’t make any such claim.
I can draw, though, and I can paint. I try to create images that give me pleasure, based on the things I like, in the hope that other people might derive similar pleasure from them. I paint subjects ranging from historic sporting events to the iconic musicians whose work has always been an integral part of my life. I paint places I know and love and I draw faces I could live with.
Many of the watercolours on this site were commissioned by individuals or organisations and I’ve never – so far – had a commissioned work rejected. I can paint you, your house, your children, your dog or even your musical hero should you so wish.
If you’d like to commission a watercolour or you’re interested in a studio-quality, signed print of any of the works on this site, please get in touch via the ‘contact’ section and we can discuss pricing. Signed prints will cost between $50-80 (plus postage) depending on size. Alternatively, just have a virtual wander around and enjoy looking at the pictures. There’ll be plenty more to come.
